By using our website and software, you consent to this Privacy Policy.

The Core: Sovereignty & Trust

When you invite our software onto your machine, you are placing your trust in us. We take that seriously. Your digital sovereignty and privacy are our highest priorities. We do not sell your data, we do not aim to monetize your attention, and we do not treat you as a product. We endeavour to treat the information provided to us with the utmost care and respect.

Here is how your information is used:

1. The Website

  • Server Logs: Our website does not use invasive tracking cookies. Our hosting provider (Netlify) collects standard, temporary server logs (like IP addresses and timestamps) strictly to keep the servers secure and running.
  • The Signal Form: When you contact us via the form on our website, Netlify securely processes your message and forwards it to our email inbox. We only use the information you provide to reply to your inquiry.

2. The Storefront (Gumroad)

We use Gumroad as our Merchant of Record. When you purchase a digital product, Gumroad processes your payment securely. Gumroad provides us with your name and email address so we can deliver your product, provide after-purchase information and any relevant technical support. We will never sell, rent, or share your email address.

3. VibeVoidOS & The Course

VibeVoidOS is a local environment. We cannot see your code, your files, or your interactions. When you run the software, here is exactly what happens under the hood:

  • License Verification: When you activate VVOS, it sends your license key directly to Gumroad to confirm your purchase. Nothing is sent to BigFatDevelopments.
  • Local Activation File: VVOS saves a small file on your computer containing your key and a unique ID for your machine. This file never leaves your computer and its intended location on your computer is disclosed to you once purchase is complete.
  • Google Fonts: The Immersive Reader loads typography from Google Fonts. (Like any website, this temporarily exposes your IP address to Google's servers to fetch the font).
  • Update Checker: Once a day, VVOS checks for new versions by reading a small public file from our GitHub repository, falling back to bigfatdevelopments.com if GitHub can't be reached. No personal information is sent; as with any web request, GitHub or Netlify briefly sees your IP address. You can switch this off in The Relay (Update Signals).
  • Course Environment Setup: Setting up your environment installs the course's Python libraries from PyPI, the public Python package library. As with any download, PyPI briefly sees your IP address. This happens whenever you create your environment, and when a lesson guides you to install an extra library or model yourself.
  • Your AI Companions: VVOS doesn't include an AI of its own. The AI Workspace simply opens your chosen provider, signed in as you. Your conversations stay between you and that provider, under their privacy policy.

4. Questions & Your Information

Your information is yours. To ask about anything in this policy, or to have us remove your details from our records, write to bigfatdevelopments@gmail.com. Note that Gumroad keeps its own purchase records under its own privacy policy.
